I have had creative ideas from the earliest I can remember. Do most of those come to fruition? Not always. There is one particular idea that has completely captured me and become almost obsessive, to the point that I am going to go to "It's Live" from just an idea.
In my daily practice of doing therapy with individuals, I have noticed a growing trend. In my daily contacts with friends and colleagues, I have noticed a growing trend. In all of those cases, the common denominator is loneliness.
People are striving to connect. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, I noticed a lot of my clients "lost" their ability to connect with others and feel an intense desire to be around people, but just as strong as if not more, an intense desire to not interact.
Enter the podcast: "Borrow Some Besties." The purpose is to help others feel connection. I intend to use easily accessible activities and record my friends/myself/my colleagues doing the activity. This will allow people to follow along at home (think watch party for movies or hanging out and doing supper) without ever having the expectation of interacting with the people doing the activity.
If you are feeling lonely or want to passively engage, this podcast is for you! Join me as we let you "Borrow Some Besties" to do something with, to increase your feeling of social connection, and to go on this journey together.
